My name is Barry Hurd, and I have the privilege of serving as Chapter Head for the Agentics Foundation’s Seattle chapter. If you’re reading this, you’ve just joined one of the most dynamic and open AI communities in the world - and you’ve done it from one of the most exciting places on the planet to be building with AI right now.
I want to take a few minutes to set the stage: where we are, why it matters, and exactly what you’ll find in the resources we’ve put together for you.
The Agentics Foundation believes that the future of AI isn’t something that happens to us: it’s something we build together, deliberately, with rigor and openness. The Pacific Northwest has always been a place where bold technical ideas find the community, capital, and culture to become something real.
